transmission

3 Signs Your Chevy Needs a Transmission Repair

The transmission works hard to convert engine power into a usable form to enable the wheels to move. The transmission contains a multitude of parts that operate under high-temperature conditions for long periods. These circumstances can lead to wear or damage to transmission components. Fortunately, your Chevy dealer can perform a transmission repair and fix any problem. These are a few signs that your transmission isn't working as well as it should be. more Strange Noises A smoothly operating transmission never makes a sound as it shifts your gears. If you start hearing noises, this is a sign that something isn't right. One of the most common signs of trouble is a slight buzzing noise. This sound appears almost like background noise when it begins, but it will gradually become louder. You might also hear a whining noise which also increases in sound and pitch. Various transmission problems can cause these sounds, including a lack of transmission fluid, a damaged torque converter, or a worn impeller. Problems in your transmission will only go away when the problem is fixed. An ongoing transmission problem can lead to damage to other transmission or engine components. Our technicians will find the cause of the problem and fix it. Low Transmission Fluid Transmission fluid provides the hydraulic power that enables your gears to shift. The fluid also helps to protect the various transmission components, most of which depend on friction to work effectively. The transmission fluid covers each component in a friction-resistant coating that reduces the chances of the part being damaged. The last major contribution of transmission fluid is to help reduce the temperature in the transmission. Unlike engine oil, transmission fluid isn't consumed as it does its work. A low level of transmission fluid means there must be a leak somewhere. Transmission fluid usually leaks outside, and you'll see a puddle of brightly-colored fluid underneath your car. An interior leak can cause thick white exhaust smoke if the transmission fluid crosses into your engine. We'll find the source of the leak and repair it. Shifting Problems Your gears shift easily when the transmission is working correctly. A shifting problem is noticeable as there's an obvious delay between the gear shifting and the new gear engaging. You'll hear this as your engine sound changes slightly, and you'll also feel a slight hesitation as the computer shifts the gears. Shifting problems are usually caused by a lack of transmission fluid. There may, however, be other causes that may need to be investigated. Our technicians will examine your transmission to find and fix the problem. If you have a transmission problem, call us right away at Tim Witt Chevrolet.

5 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Chevrolet Dealer

Buying a car is undoubtedly an exciting time. You get to pick out the perfect model and color, choose the add-ons and upgrades you want, and take it for a test drive. While the process of picking out your dream car is a lot of fun, one of the most important decisions you'll make is how to pay for it. One option is to get car financing through your Chevrolet dealer. Here are a few benefits to getting it done right at the dealership: more 1. Lower Interest Rate Dealerships often offer a lower interest rate than banks or other third-party lenders. That's because dealerships have access to more favorable rates and terms than most consumers. Moreover, the dealer can also help you get approved for a loan even if your credit history is not perfect or you don't have a lot of money for a down payment. This can be a great option if you're looking to rebuild your credit or are tight on cash. 2. Longer Loan Term and Convenient Monthly Payments Purchasing a car outright is a huge financial undertaking. When you finance your car through your dealer, you can choose a loan term that fits your budget and lifestyle. For example, you may opt for a loan term of 72 months to make your monthly payments more affordable. Or, you may choose a shorter term of 36 months if you want to pay off your car sooner. 3. You Will Have a Single Point of Contact Having a single point of contact for both your financing and purchase means that you will work with one individual throughout the entire process, from start to finish. This can be extremely helpful, as it eliminates the need to communicate with multiple people and keeps everything organized and streamlined. 4. Get the Car You Want Buying a car with cash means that your options are limited to the amount of money you have on hand. Most of the time, you will have to settle for a less expensive model or forgo certain features and upgrades you really want. When you finance your car through your dealer, however, you can choose the exact make and model you want, as well as any add-ons or upgrades, without having to worry about the cost. 5. You May Be Able To Get Special Dealer Incentives Dealerships often offer incentives to customers who finance their car through the dealership. These incentives can include things like a lower interest rate, a longer loan term, or even cash back. Be sure to ask your dealer about any special financing deals that may be available so that you can take advantage of them. When you're in the market for a new car, it's important to consider all of your financing options. Your dealership is a great place to start because they offer a variety of vehicle financing solutions that can fit your needs. Contact Tim Witt Chevrolet today and learn more about our auto financing solutions. We are a full-service dealership and can help you with all your automotive needs, from financing to maintenance and repairs.

Does Your Chevy Need a Brake Repair?

It's very rare for a Chevy to experience serious brake problems. But without regular servicing and proper care, even the finest of brakes can develop an issue. One thing every driver should know is how to spot and respond to signs of brake trouble. If you experience any of the following issues, visit your local Chevy dealer immediately for brake repair. more 5 Signs Your Chevy Needs a Brake Repair Pulling to One Side When Braking Each of your wheels has its own braking mechanism. If just one caliper malfunctions due to corrosion, dirt, a loose pin, or a trapped stone, you'll often feel a slight pull to one side when you brake. This means one side of your car has reduced stopping power. You'll need to have the malfunctioning caliper cleaned or repaired. Your Chevy Dealer Finds Uneven Pad Wear Under normal driving conditions, brakes should be inspected twice a year. This should be done more often if you drive in severe conditions that require continual braking, such as heavy stop-and-go traffic. While inspecting your brakes, a technician can often identify underlying problems by how evenly or unevenly the brake pads are wearing down. If one pad is wearing more slowly than the others, its caliper might be applying less pressure for some reason. This might be a caliper problem, a leaking hose, or something else. Soft Sensation in the Brake Pedal Your brake pedal should always feel firm underfoot. If you ever press down and it feels softer than usual, pull over and try to identify the problem. Any softness or sponginess to the brakes often points to a brake fluid leak. Look for a yellow liquid along your brake hoses or pooling under your vehicle. Never drive if you suspect leaking brake fluid. Unresponsive Brakes If you press on the pedal and it feels firm, but your car isn't slowing down as promptly as it should, then you might have overheating brakes. When overused, brake pads and rotors can reach up to 600 or 700 degrees. At this incredible temperature, the resin in brake pads starts to melt, reducing friction. Even rotor discs can become damaged by such heat. If overheating ever happens to you, pull over and allow your brakes to cool. If they don't return to normal function have a technician take a look. Strange Sounds When Braking Your first warning of brake issues will usually be a strange sound of some kind. A high-pitched squeaking or squealing signifies at least one worn-down brake pad that needs to be replaced. Grinding might mean a pad has worn down too far and metal is scraping directly on the rotor. Grinding noises might also mean something's trapped in a caliper: perhaps a loose pin or a stone. And a rhythmic thumping noise might be caused by warped rotors or faulty drum brakes. Have your brakes inspected and repaired today at Tim Witt Chevrolet.

4 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Chevy Dealer

Buying a car can get expensive, especially if you want something quality. That's why it's important to consider getting something like car financing from your Chevy dealer. There are a lot of great reasons to get a car loan. Here are just a few benefits that you can expect. more 1. It's Easy to Get Some types of loans can be extremely difficult to get approved for, making the experience a long, frustrating one. If that's something you'd like to avoid, you'll want to consider getting financing for your car purchase. It's incredibly easy to get a car loan, and almost anyone can be approved for one. All you'll need to do is head to your dealer's financing department, and they'll walk you through your options and help you choose the right one. 2. Increase Your Credit Score Whether you have a low score or a mediocre score that you're looking to boost a little, getting financing for your car can help. Because these loans are so easy to get, even for people with low scores, they're a highly effective way of improving someone's credit score. This is important because having a low credit score can have a serious negative impact on all areas of your financial life. Get a car loan, make your monthly payments on time, and see a dramatic improvement in your credit score. 3. Easy Budgeting If you pay for the entirety of your car in cash, you may find yourself struggling with your budget for a while. Cars are expensive purchases, and that's money that you could have left in your savings account for other purchases or emergencies down the line. But if you get financing for your purchase, you'll only put down an initial down payment. The amount you put down for your down payment can be quite flexible too, and your subsequent monthly payments will be consistent until you've paid off the loan. All of these factors contribute to easy budgeting. 4. Get a Better Car This is one of the biggest and most obvious reasons to consider financing options, but it's still worth mentioning. Paying for your car in cash is going to severely limit what you can afford, and you may not wind up with a vehicle you love. When you get financing, however, you'll find that you have many more options available to you. That means you can get a car you're really going to love instead of just one you can afford. If you're thinking about getting financing for your car, your dealer is the best place to visit. Are you ready to see what we can offer you? Visit us at Tim Witt Chevrolet.

Their premium hard scoop is really good and comes in baby, small, medium, large, or in a waffle cone. They also do great shakes and malts, and the fresh raspberry may be our favorite, though the fresh strawberry is great, too. Get a sundae if you want our opinion, though, and these come in small, medium, and large. The hot caramel apple is very good, but the hot fudge is also a classic. They do a great root beer float, too. Station The Corner Scoop Creamery is south of us, and the Station is north. They are at 315 Main St. in Wasaukee, WI and open every day from 11 AM until 9 PM. They have great prices to go with their large portions, an endless variety of toppings to add to your creation, and great service that makes you feel wanted and appreciated. They do parfaits, turtles, banana splits, sundaes, shakes, malts, slushes, sodas, soda floats, and more. One of our favorites is their butterscotch shake, but the marshmallow shake is also an interesting take on the classic. They do a variety of soft serve cones, and the kids will love the vanilla soft serve with a flavored trim ripple. They also have Drumsticks, do flurries of all kinds, and have some great burgers if you're feeling hungry. These are both great places to go when you need a road trip for a great frozen treat.
