2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The entry-level LS comes with 17-inch silver painted wheels, automatic on-off halogen headlights, power windows, and power-adjustable side exterior mirrors. It also has lower grille shutters. Stepping up to the LT adds roof rails, heated side mirrors, tinted rear windows, and LED foglights. The Activ has an off-road-tuned suspension, a front skid plate, and a tow hitch receiver. It also adds a two-tone roof and dual exhaust outlets. The sporty RS has 18-inch machined alloy wheels and some unique exterior accents.

The base engine for the Trailblazer is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder with 137 horsepower. It uses a continuously variable automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive. A 1.3-liter turbo engine comes standard with the Activ and RS. It generates 155 horsepower, uses a nine-speed automatic transmission, and comes with all-wheel drive. This engine is available as an option for the LS and LT if you want the all-wheel drive system. If you equip the Trailblazer with a tow hitch, it can pull up to 1,000 pounds.

The base engine is more efficient than the turbo, with an estimated fuel economy of 30 mpg combined. If you opt for the all-wheel drive system, it has additional driving modes, with Normal, Sport, and Snow to choose from. Either of the engines is peppy enough to zip the Trailblazer around town, and its small size and tight turning radius make it ideal for urban driving. The ride in the Trailblazer stays smooth on the highway, and the suspension does a good job of keeping it well connected to the road when it becomes curvy.

Inside, there's room for up to five in the Trailblazer. It has 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seatbacks up, and 54.4 cubic feet with the seats folded down. Cloth upholstery comes standard in the lower trims, with simulated leather upholstery in the Activ and RS. The LT adds a power-adjustable driver's seat. A 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard, but you can get an 8-inch touchscreen with the Technology Package for the Activ and RS. This package also comes with wireless charging and an upgraded Bose stereo system.

Every 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer comes standard with several advanced safety systems. These include forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The optional Driver Confidence Package for the LT and above adds a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors. The Active and RS are also eligible for the Technology Package, which comes with adaptive cruise control and a high-resolution rearview camera.
