2022 Chevrolet Colorado

The base Colorado is the WT. It comes with power locks, a locking tailgate, and rear bumper corner steps. The LT is next in the lineup with an EZ Lift tailgate, a remote locking tailgate, and alloy wheels. Choose the off-road-ready Z71 for all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension, and heated exterior side mirrors, or the ZR2 for a raised suspension, larger all-terrain tires, a spray-in bedliner, and fender flares. The Trail Boss Package for the LT and Z71 adds skid plates, black exterior trim, gloss black wheels, and a 1-inch leveling kit.

Power for the WT comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 200 horsepower. It uses a six-speed automatic transmission. Every crew cab gets a 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine that puts out 308 horsepower that uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with most trims, and all-wheel drive is optional with either powertrain. A 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine is also optional, depending on which trim you choose.

The Colorado's base engine has plenty of power for everyday driving, but if you choose the V-6 or diesel, it provides stronger acceleration and more passing power. When equipped with the tow package and the diesel engine, this pickup can tow up to 7,700 pounds, but even if you have the gas V-6, it can still tow 7,000 pounds. The ZR2 is the most capable off-road model. It will tackle rough terrain with relative ease.

If you choose the Crew Cab, the Colorado has room for up to five people, while the smaller cab can fit four. The WT has the basics, including a tilt-only steering wheel cloth upholstery and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The LT has a leather-wrapped steering wheel and offers heated front seats and automatic climate control. Depending on the trim, leather upholstery is an available option.

There are some impressive tech features in the Colorado. A 7-inch touch screen comes standard in the WT, and this entry-level model has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and two USB ports. OnStar with a Wi-Fi hot spot is optional for the WT and standard in the rest of the lineup. Bumping up to the LT adds an 8-inch touch screen, two additional USB ports, the option for navigation, and an upgraded stereo.

Every 2022 Colorado has a rearview camera, two complete sets of LATCH connectors, and Chevy's Teen Driver system that allows primary drivers to set parameters for a teen or new driver. A forward-collision warning with automatic braking is optional for the LT and comes standard with the Z71 and ZR2. Rear parking sensors are available, and you can also get a lane-departure warning depending on the trim.
