Auto Lube Technician
Job description:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Sells lubrication, safety inspection and other related services.
- Maintains records on regular customers, following up periodically with telephone, mail or personal reminders.
- Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
- Replaces oil and air filters.
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Documents all work performed on the repair order.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Service Advisor/Writer
Job Summary:
- Sells and schedules needed service work in the certified service (CS) department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows the leadership of the Service Manager and Fixed Operations Manager.
- Conducts themselves in a professional manner and demonstrates courteous behavior towards fellow employees and customers
- Adheres to the process standards of Tim Witt Chevrolet
- Successfully completes all training and instruction required to maintain certifications established. Keeps workspace clean and free from hazardous conditions. Informs immediate supervisors of any safety or improper conduct that you may observe.
- Refrains at all times from overselling or using high pressure sales and never sells unneeded repairs. Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
- Schedules CS appointments. Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
- Takes time with customers to understand their concerns, displays empathy and understanding and always acts in a polite manner.
- Generates repair orders with all fields filled out including the customer signature. Includes e-mails on all repair orders. Documents all work sold and has the Service Manager authorize any additional work added as well as other labor hours. Reviews CS Technicians’ notes verifying the 3 C’s (Concern, Cause, Correction) have been addressed. Completes repair orders when the job is completed and filed.
- Establishes customer's method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary. Ensures Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection (MPVI) is completed on every vehicle.
- Reviews the diagnosis and recommendations with the CS Technician to fully understand. Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts. Addresses the customer’s original concern first at all times.
- Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Keeps the customer informed when more time is needed or more repairs are needed. Calls when repairs are completed, reviews the repair order with the customer and gives them store hours for pick up.
- Aids the customer in picking up their vehicle when completed by once again reviewing the completed repair order with them so they are able to understand how their money has been spent. Cashes customers out (cash, check or credit card). Asks for a completely satisfied survey from warranty customers.
- Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Makes sure they are locked and all keys are marked and put away correctly.
- Keeps service department forms, menus and pricing guides up-to-date.
Qualifications/Requirements

- Dealership experience preferred with successful track record of Customer Service Index (CSI).

- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary:
- Manage the flow of work and supervise the service technicians in the GM Certified Service area of the dealership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and schedule activities of department employees
- Monitor daily productivity of technicians
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with customers to encourage customer retention and referrals.
- Obtain customer vehicle concerns and document accurately and clearly on repair order
- Refer to service history, inspect vehicle and recommend any additional service needed
- Advise customers on the care and maintenance of their vehicles and the value of regular maintenance
- Provide complete and accurate cost estimates to the customers.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Previous experience as an automotive service manager (GM preferred)
- Previous experience in technician practices, diagnosis, and drivability
- ASE certifications

- Previous knowledge of dealership operations is a plus
